The last few months have been dominated by my work on the VIRUS special issue “Lovecraft: Volume I”. With this 130 page magazine, I have fulfilled a personal dream: To finally take the helm of an entire magazine myself. As of today, the issue is not only available on the publisher’s website, but also in bookstores.
I put the magazine together according to my own ideas, from the content planning to the search for authors to the editing and budgeting. Of course, I also wrote one or two articles and conducted interviews with experts and cultural figures from Lovecraftian culture. The thematic focus is on Lovecraft’s work itself and direct adaptations of his stories in the entertainment media.
Getting this off the ground was also a feat of strength at many points. But, what can I say: I would do it again! After all, the magazine is called “Volume I” for good reason…
